•There is a crisis that is headed our way when the Baby Boomer generation starts retiring. Many of them are counting on winning the lottery rather than saving what they will need for retirement. The average Social Security benefit is approximately $1500 per month. With Social Security as the only retirement income available to those who did not, could not or lost their pensions because of mismanagement, there will be many people vying for the greeter job at Walmart.
•This same $1500 monthly income can be used in Honduras to provide a lifestyle that mirrors or greater than what they are currently enjoying on their pre-retirement income. Most people would not be willing or capable of moving to Honduras on their own. Moving to a foreign country and living among the locals would cause culture shock that would be unbearable.
•Because of the low cost of land and labor, building a gated community to US standards would be very economical.
•The target market for these communities are retirees whose income comes exclusively from Social Security.
